A Little About Me

Emma Rose MBACP (Accred)

Hello, I’m Emma. My journey into the world of therapy started with a desire to help people feel seen, supported, and understood. As a trauma-focused therapist, I understand that healing isn't about "getting over" difficult experiences but learning to live alongside them with greater ease and self-compassion.

I work with adults who have experienced childhood trauma, complex PTSD, and relational wounds that may echo in present relationships and self-perception. My approach recognises that trauma lives in both body and mind, and that true healing happens when we feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted exactly as we are.

I hold a Master's in Integrative Counselling with distinction from Leeds Beckett University, a PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a BSc Hons (First) in Counselling Psychology. I am BACP-registered and continuously grow my understanding of complex trauma through weekly training with the Carolyn Spring Trauma Response Community, and maintain comprehensive supervision including bi-weekly clinical and psychodynamic group supervision, plus monthly trauma-focused case consultation.

Together, we'll create a safe therapeutic space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, reconnect with your resilience, and discover new ways of being in relationship with yourself and others.

Why Choose Me As Your Therapist?

Specialist Areas

I Offer Support For A Wide Range Of Issues

Explore the specialist areas below to read a gentle description of each concern and understand how relational and integrative therapy can support your healing journey.

01
Support Area 01

Anxiety

How It Feels

A racing mind, persistent worry, and physical tension can leave you feeling constantly on edge, hypervigilant, or disconnected.

How My Therapy Helps

Together, we will gently explore the roots of your worries, soothe your nervous system, and help you discover a reliable, organic foundation of grounding and inner calm.

You don't have to carry this alone.

My Relational Integrative Therapeutic Approach

Therapy with me is about recognising, respecting, and gently nurturing the strengths that have brought you to this point, and not about 'fixing you.'

To do this, I offer a relational integrative approach.

A Relational Approach

This means I use our therapeutic relationship as a healing space where your patterns, emotions, and insights can emerge through the connection we build together.

An Integrative Approach

As an integrative therapist, I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches and tailor my methods to meet your unique needs and circumstances rather than using a single fixed technique.

My therapeutic approaches include:

Integrative Counselling

A flexible approach that combines techniques from various counselling theories (behavioural, psychodynamic, humanistic) to suit your unique needs holistically.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

A practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour, effective for anxiety and depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Aims at understanding how past experiences influence current behaviours, revealing unconscious thoughts and feelings to improve self-awareness.

Person-Centred Therapy

Fosters a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where you are empowered to explore your emotions. The therapist acts as a compassionate guide.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Explores how our communication is shaped by internal 'ego states' (Parent, Adult, Child), helping to resolve conflict and enhance relationships.

Mindfulness

Focuses on the present moment with openness and without judgement, cultivating awareness, reducing stress, and improving emotional resilience.

What to Expect from Therapy

Taking the first step can feel overwhelming. Here is a clear, collaborative roadmap of how we'll work together.

Initial Consultation

Our initial session is a warm, collaborative space where we can talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain. It is a gentle opportunity for us to meet, see how we connect, and decide if we feel comfortable working together.

Session Frequency

Therapy is as individual as you are, with no predetermined session limit. We will work entirely at your pace, and while we collaboratively decide on frequency, meeting weekly provides the most stable momentum for deep, meaningful processing.

Regular Reviews

To ensure our work continues to feel helpful and aligned with your goals, we will gently check in together every 6–8 sessions. This allows us to share feedback, review your progress, and shape your therapeutic journey together.

Kind Words from Clients

"Emma is a wonderful therapist"

Emma is a wonderful therapist. I started seeing her in July 2025 and I'm so glad my friend recommended her to me. I have had the need for several types of therapy in my life and Emma, is one of the two most brilliant therapists I've been supported by. She's really insightful, with her reflections on what we've discussed in sessions. She makes me feel safe and heard and I'm so grateful to her, for helping me through so much difficulty. I felt that I'd definitely made the right decision to seek her help. She has experience in multiple different areas, so if you're looking for someone to help you work through anything, you really couldn't find anyone better than Emma.

Emma has built a safe and welcoming space to explore attachment styles and relationship dynamics, and is always incredibly supportive. The reflections Emma shares after each session are thoughtfully crafted, insightful and very helpful for digging deeper into issues between sessions. Emma is also very adaptive in offering gentle challenge during appointments. I look forward to continuing to work together.

Dedicated Tribute

In Memory of Rosie Rose 🌸

19 June 2015 – 8 June 2026

Inner Bloom Therapy is dedicated to Rosie — my faithful companion, my grounding presence, and the best colleague I could have asked for.

Through every late-night assignment, every chapter of my counselling and psychology degree, postgraduate diploma, and MA, Rosie was there supporting me, keeping me company, snoozing at my feet, and quietly keeping me anchored. When I qualified and began working with clients, she took her role just as seriously, sitting close by as I held space for others. She never missed a shift.

Rosie also knew something important about self-care that I try to carry into my practice: that stepping outside, breathing fresh air, and walking every day is essential. She made sure I never forgot it. Rosie embodied all things "green zone" — that calm, regulated place where we feel most ourselves. Rosie knew instinctively that a well-timed nudge for a break, a walk, playing ball and being silly, was sometimes exactly the right "intervention," keeping us both rooted in the present.

The name Inner Bloom is about growth that happens quietly, from the inside out. Rosie understood that better than most. Rosie is missed beyond words, and this practice carries her spirit in everything it does.
